Overview


Understanding phase transformations in materials if central to control and optimisation of the resulting in service properties. In metallic alloys such as steel, these transformations occur at high temperatures making experimental studies difficult. The application of in-situ experimental techniques can play an important role in enhancing our understanding of relevant phenomena.

Research Overview


  • Primary focus on the experimental and computational investigation of phase transformations as pertains to engineering materials. Particular interest in the development of novel in-situ experimental techniques to elucidate high temperature phase transformation phenomena.
