Research Overview

  • My current research focus is contributing to the emerging field of Persona Studies, which examines the public presentation of the self online through social media platforms and digital services. I am the co-author of the 2019 Persona Studies: An Introduction, and a co-editor of the Persona Studies journal. My contribution to Games Studies has examined the role of affect in the public presentation of the self, both as a gamer and in terms of ‘indie’ and independent cultures of game production.  I am also currently involved in research which looks at the potential operation and application of Virtual and Augmented realities in teaching and learning.
