I am a clastic sedimentologist mainly working on fluvial, lacustrine, coastal and shallow marine deposits ranging in age from Precambrian to Recent.

Research Overview


  • My main fields of interest are in clastic sedimentology, including:

    (1)     sedimentology, facies relationships and basin analysis in fluvial, deltaic, coastal and shallow marine sedimentary sequences;

    (2)     Quaternary fluvial, deltaic and playa lake sedimentary successions in the Lake Eyre basin and their implications for climate change;

    (3)     Quaternary sedimentation, palaeoecology, geochemistry, groundwater hydrology, environmental geology and pollution studies;

    (4)     the sedimentology of archaeological deposits.
