Davies, Brian Honorary Professor

Honorary Professor, Occupational Health & Safety

Overview

Professor Davies has a long history of research in the field of diesel exhaust emissions analysis and control within the coal mining industry.  He was awarded the Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in recognition of his services to occupational health and hygiene especially in the coal mining industry and the Yant Award (American Industrial Hygiene Association) for his outstanding contribution to education and training in the field of WHS. He is also the first non-North American to receive the William Steiger Memorial Award (American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists) for his contributions to advancements in occupational health and safety. His record of accomplishments includes mentoring industry personnel and OHS academics and in HDR supervision.

Professor Davies was the inaugural Director of the Centre  for Occupational, Public and Environmental Research in Safety & Health (COPERSH).
