Dr. Bo Du received his PhD degree in Transportation Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. Dr. Du’s research activities aim to better understand people’s travel behaviour and practically improve transport system in the electric, autonomous, connected and shared era using modelling, optimization, simulation and data analytics tools. He was a recipient of the Fred Burggraf Award from Transportation Research Board, USA, which recognized excellence in transportation research by researchers 35 years of age or younger.
Dr. Du is the Theme Leader of Future Transport & Mobility at SMART focusing on a diversity of research and projects in the fields of transport & logistics. As a Course Coordinator, he is contributing to the transformation of SMART from a research-only facility to research & teaching institute by developing and coordinating SMART Teaching Program with academics and communication team within SMART, across UOW’s faculties, and beyond.

A full PhD scholarship with additional top-up stipend is available for a research project "C-UAV" to investigate cooperative operation of UAVs and multi-type vehicles to overcome energy constraints and uncertainty, with applications in freight logistics and disaster management.
