Du, Bobby Dr.

Lecturer in Transport & Urban Modelling, Leader of Future Transport & Mobility, Course Coordinator

  • Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences - SMART Infrastructure Facility
  • Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences - School of Civil, Mining and Environmental Engineering

Overview

Dr. Bo Du is currently a Lecturer, Theme Leader and Course Coordinator at the SMART Infrastructure Facility, jointly affiliated with the School of Civil, Mining and Environmental Engineering (CME) in the University of Wollongong (UOW). He received his PhD degree in Transportation Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. Dr. Du’s research interests focus on better understanding people’s travel behaviour and practically improving transport system in the electric, autonomous, connected and shared era using modelling, optimization, simulation and data analytics tools. He was a recipient of the Fred Burggraf Award from Transportation Research Board, USA, which recognized excellence in transportation research by researchers 35 years of age or younger.

At SMART, Dr. Du is leading the Future Transport & Mobility group to conduct a diversity of researches and projects in transport area. As a Course Coordinator, he is contributing to the transformation of SMART from a research-only facility to research & teaching institute by developing and coordinating teaching program with academics and communication team within SMART, across UOW’s faculties, and beyond. Dr. Du is a Young Professional Ambassador of the Australia China Business Council. This program aims to develop Australia’s emerging young professional talent and build their leadership capabilities in the Australia-China business space.
