Professor Andrew Bonney is a general practitioner on the South Coast of NSW and Roberta Williams Chair of General Practice in the School of Medicine.

Andrew's goal is to foster quality, equity and sustainability in primary care through education and research, with a focus on regional and rural Australia.

He is Director of the Illawarra and Southern Practice Research Network within the School of Medicine.

  • Prof Bonney has been in clinical practice on the NSW south coast since 1992 as a GP to a rural town and Aboriginal community. He has been involved in medical education and clinical leadership roles since 1997. He has been published both nationally and internationally on aspects of primary care and is on the review panels of national and international journals including the Medical Journal of Australia, Australian Family Physician, Medical Education and Australian Journal of Rural Health.
