RESEARCH INTERESTS

Professor Sharp has expertise in teaching and researching across the intersections of law and the humanities. Recognised internationally for her contributions to shaping the field of cultural legal studies, her specilisations include social media discourse analysis, feminist legal theory, cultural studies theory, and interrogations of narrative. Understanding the motivations, expectations and values of individuals as they respond to law in key moments, is the essence of the work Cassandra endeavours to pursue, and it forms the basis for the grounding of each of her research projects

Cassandra enjoys supervising PhD students, and was recently acknowledged in the UOW HDR Supervision Best Practice publication for her empathy and mentoring PhD students. She currently supervises 3 PhD students, has had 11 PhD completions, and regularly supervises LLB Hons students.
