BIO

I practiced medicine in a resource poor, African context before turning my attention to academic philosophy. My focus has remained on the conditions necessary for fostering healthy communities and individuals, along with the question of what justice entails. I'm not sure if that makes me a doctor with a speciality in philosophy, or a philosopher with a background in medicine. Whatever the case, my work broadly falls into three categories: pan-African social and political thought; political phenomenology; and the health humanities.
