BIO

Dr Anil Chandrakumara is a Senior Lecturer in the Management Discipline at the University of Wollongong. He holds a PhD in International Organisational Behaviour and Management from the University of Sheffield (UK) and brings over three decades of academic experience across Australia, the United Kingdom, and Sri Lanka.

His research focuses on organisational behaviour, values, ethics, sustainability and citizenship behaviour and performance in international contexts, with publications in international journals including International Journal of Manpower, Employee Relations, Cyberpsychology: Journal of Psychosocial research on Cyberspace, Thunderbird International Business Review, and Australian Accounting Review, Journal of Population and Ageing, Australian Accounting, Business, and Finance Journal,  as well as in refereed conference proceedings.

Dr Chandrakumara has extensive experience in learning and teaching, particularly in international organisational behaviour, international business management, cross-cultural management, global business strategy, and performance management. He has coordinated and developed a number of postgraduate subjects and is recognised for consistently strong teaching performance over many years. His teaching is underpinned by strong research–teaching nexus and a focus on applied, case-based, interactive learning & teaching approaches.

He has held a range of academic leadership and governance roles, including Head of School, Director of the Master of International Business, and advisory positions in higher education and curriculum development, including national level leadership in business studies subject in Sr Lanka. His academic experience also includes engagement with universities in Australia, the UK, and Sri Lanka, as well as institutions affiliated with the University of London, University of Wales, and Staffordshire University.

He has received a number of research and teaching recognitions, including Best Journal Paper (2012), Best Conference Paper awards (2009, 2014), Distinguished Journal Paper Reviewer, and UOW nomination for OCTAL awards, and has secured competitive research and teaching grants, including a Global Challenge Research Grant, UOW Business Faculty Research Grant, Sydny Business School Research Grants, UOW Teaching and Learning Grant, and one of the Chief Investigators of ARC linkage grant application.
