BIO
Grounded in geographical political economy, my research uses in-depth, place-based case studies to understand wider processes of economic and social transformation. I have examined these issues across a range of industries, including steel and automotive, maritime transport, and the creative economy, often drawing on longitudinal, ethnographic, and mixed-methods approaches.
I value collaborative research that engages industry, government, unions, and communities to try and better understand contemporary challenges and opportunities. Through my teaching and research supervision, I aim to help students develop the critical, analytical, and interpersonal skills needed to understand and respond to a rapidly changing world.
